About Robert
Robert Conyers, Jr. leads Brown & Riding’s Energy Practice, a specialized team providing clients with the most comprehensive and competitive products in the Energy insurance marketplace for oil, gas, petrochemical, utilities, alternative energy, manufacturers, and dealers. As a broker, Robert specializes in energy assets (upstream, midstream, downstream), energy service contractors (engineering, construction, maintenance), and manufacturing (chemical, oil & gas, environmental products).
Robert began his insurance career as an intern while attending college. After graduation, he joined B&R full-time in 2017 in an entry-level role. His career progressed quickly, and he became a Broker in 2020. Robert played a key role in expanding Brown & Riding’s national footprint by opening the firm’s Louisiana location in 2021. The same year, he was part of a team of four that represented B&R in the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB) Broker Smackdown Regionals in Chicago, securing victory. The team then went on to win CIAB’s 2022 National Broker Smackdown. Robert became a company shareholder, Principal, and Senior Vice President in 2023.
Robert holds degrees in Risk Management & Insurance, Managerial Finance, and Marketing from the University of Mississippi. Committed to professional development, he regularly attends industry events, including the IRMI Energy conference and the WSIA Annual Marketplace.
