About Andrew
Andrew Grim is Brown & Riding’s Executive Director of Specialty and works with the Executive Leadership Team and Practice Group Leaders to promote marketing uniformity, streamline recruiting efforts, and manage specialty formation and development. He is also responsible for making recommendations regarding any and all personnel related to the firm’s specialty practice groups.
Andrew also serves as Brown & Riding’s National Casualty Practice Leader, a position he has held since 2021 in which he oversees the practice group’s continued growth and marketplace reputation as well as coaching and mentoring support staff and developing brokers.
He has been an integral part of Brown & Riding for ten years, joining the company in 2014 to help start the Dallas, TX office. He has been instrumental in propelling the company’s rapid growth nationally and became a company Principal within his first three years with the firm. In addition to his Executive Director of Specialty and National Casualty Practice Leader roles, he manages his own production team and has consistently been a top new business producer for the firm, specializing in construction.
Throughout his career, Andrew has been an innovator of Excess & Surplus Lines products and works closely with his associates to solve the needs of clients and their respective insureds. He maintains a very high commitment to excellence through his professionalism and transparency with retailers and carriers and specializes in all types of casualty insurance programs for large residential, commercial, and public works construction developers and contractors; commercial and residential real estate portfolios; and all aspects of comprehensive consolidated insurance programs (CIPs, OCIPs, and CCIPs).
Prior to becoming Executive Director of Specialty, Andrew oversaw Brown & Riding’s internal professional development program for aspiring brokers, the “Rainmaker Group,” from 2018 to 2023. He was recognized as one of 2019’s “Hot 100” by Insurance Business America and was also named 2019 “Young Broker of the Year” by Insurance Insider, an award celebrating a single, key individual in the global broking sector, aged 35 and under, who has made significant contributions to the industry and its future development. He has continued to be a member of WSIA’s Membership & Ethics Committee since 2018 and is also a current IICF Southeast Division Board Member.
